Major cycle road racing returns for the third round of the British Cycling Junior Road Series.

Britain’s best junior riders compete in the Cwmtillery Glass Monmouthshire Junior GP taking place on Sunday 30th June 2019.

The race for the second year will again will be centred on the historic village of Grosmont, which has given tremendous support to cycling events in recent years. A new sponsor Cwntillery Glass Centre for the British Cycling Junior Road Series event where 100 of the best riders aged 16 - 18 from all over the UK will take part. The series has seen the likes of Team Sky’s Geraint Thomas, Luke Rowe and Owain Doull as well as Team Wiggins Scott Davies compete before breaking through to the elite ranks.

The race will be on a challenging course which takes the riders from Hilston Park, Cross Ash, to Abergavenny, then via Llanarth and Newcastle to a tough 20km circuit through Grosmont and Cross Ash. The riders will pass through Grosmont 3 times before climbing to the race finish in the centre of the village, where Grosmont will be holding its own festival of cycling.

The event will form part of the Abergavenny Festival of Cycling, with the Iron Mountain Sportif taking place on Saturday 29 June ahead of the race.
